At this year’s Winter Fun Fest, we have the 1st Annual Hot Chocolate Trail where we'll see Downtown Salmon Arm’s finest local hot chocolate crafters create a unique hot chocolate that will tempt your taste buds and awaken your senses. New this year, we are seeing cafés and restaurants creating creative and unusual versions of our favourite dessert drink.

The mission of the Salmon Arm Winter Fun Fest is to provide a free family-oriented winter celebration blending sport, recreation, arts and culture, showcasing various outdoor activities in the Shuswap.

The annual Salmon Arm Winter Fun Fest, hosted by the Salmon Arm & Shuswap Lake Agricultural Association and Salmon Arm Fair, is February 18 & 19, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. includes food trucks from in and around the city, and vendors selling a wide variety of items, all taking place down at the Salmon Arm Fairgrounds.

THE WINTER FUN FEST IS A family-fun free event of community events, live music, outdoor fun, complete with food trucks, and a huge mix of vendors selling holiday items will be happening down at the Salmon Arm Fairgrounds.

At the Fairgrounds, there’ll be lots of opportunity for entertainment and really engaging family fun. We have a full lineup of activities we are currently working on, such as, wagon/sleigh rides, fat bike, snowshoe and cross-country ski races, fire and ice sculptures, Broom Ball, Snow croquet, Frozen Cheeks 10K road race, Snowflake Kickball tourney and the zany iron fry pan or frozen boot toss.

We have a spectacular Fire Sculpture burn planned Saturday and Sunday evenings, and as winter is a traditional season of storytelling, a special feature of Indigenous storytellers.

For the creative participants we are working on a Photo Contest of photographic images with winter, alpine, and polar themes of any genre and style for all audiences. Design a frozen Sun Catcher and enter the Frozen Sun Catcher contest. Or, meet the critters at petting zoo Family Farm.

We have Kiki the Eco Elf scheduled bring her entertaining dance party music, Christine the magical Face painter, and Maggie creating fabulous Balloon Art. We are also inviting our SAS musical theatre group, the AL Fortune Drumline, our very own Pipes and Drums and so much more. The Light-Up Parade is tentatively scheduled Saturday, February 18th starting at 5pm.
