We are excited to announce the 2025 Project Grow: Youth Garden Contest for Shuswap Youth is back again this year! For 2025 , we are creating 2 age categories: Sprouts: Ages 8-10 & Seedlings: Ages 11-14

Initial registration is now open and we will send a follow up email with the guidelines for this year. Are you ready to have your youth discover how rewarding it is to nurture and grow their own garden?

We are really proud of all the gardens grown in the past 2 years as part of the Youth Garden Contest! The youth discovered how rewarding it is to nurture and grow their own garden and to have a better understanding of where food comes from and how to create food security!

Our 2024 top 3 gardens went to: 1st Place – Molly Bock    2nd Place – Keattan Klassen     3rd Place: Gillian Rands

We provide the seeds, they plan and grow the garden! Registration is now open until May 15th, 2024.

While learning to grow fruits & veggies is amazing all by itself, there are great prizes to be won for the top 3 gardens! All presented gardens will receive a weekend Salmon Arm Fair Pass for participating.

Project Grow is an initiative of the Shuswap Agricultural Association, Buckerfield’s and the Shuswap Food Action and is supported by SASCU & Grow and Change Horticultural Services.
